![]() ![]() There has been a lot of research on digital divides during the past few decades. ![]() The present study intends to assess the global trend of published literature on digital divide from 2001 to 2020 using the bibliometric analysis technique to provide a holistic picture of global research outputs on digital divide. It has become a major thrust area that has attracted increasing attention from scholars and policymakers as well. Now, in every nook and corner of the world, researchers and decision-makers are discussing the digital divide. The word digital divide refers to the gap between the groups of people who benefited from the Digital Age and those who are not. This distinction between people who do and do not have access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) creates digital divide. In a recent study by the International Telecommunication Union (2019), it was revealed that in the developed world the internet access rate is much higher compared to that of developing countries. ![]() But, unfortunately, till now there is a wider gap between the people of Information Communication Technology haves and haves not. In the 21st century, the entire world has witnessed great digital transformation at a faster pace in drastically changing the human world in all walks of life and from all dimensions. Information Technology has made things possible that once seemed impossible. The rapid growth of Information Technology has changed the social and professional life of human being.
